i draw a lot on paper before starting a work and i write many words down, trying to get as much as directions possible. When i am ready, i start the job with a few guiding lines in my head but improvisation takes a big part in the process.

DAVID ZACHARIAS
Interview with the French photographer

David Zacharias is not an artist.

David Zacharias is more like two, three, or four talented artists trapped in a human body at the same time.
He is an awesome photographer, drawer, furniture and product designer, and painter. Somehow he manages to infuse the same creative and poetic vibe in all his works, making them easy to identify and love. He is also a great person with an heart as big as his soul, humble and clever. He is a friend.

POST-IT WAR
Busy creative peoples

Post-it War is a new phenomenon in European offices.

French creatives who work in open spaces are busy.
A couple of years ago, they would all try to “change the world” by writing hippy stuffs on the parisian advertising posters.
The new trend is to create pixel art on the windows of the open-space by using post-it.
If you go to work with your fixed-gear bike, spend the rest of your day downloading iPhone apps while creating useless corporate jokes in your office (that you will then post on Facebook), and make 3000 or 4000 euros a month as a reward for your efforts, then you’re probably a French “creative”.

PLEASE INTRODUCE YOURSELF
A self-taught painter, I was born in Paris in 1971. I live in a geometric and colorful world.
My experience and my inspiration come from urban arts, where I began. I developed a very personal graphic code and I use the energy from the colors as a therapy.
I have been working for many years on reflections based on networks and connections.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WORK?
Easy: it is geometricolorismohappyflashy or, in other terms, relative atomic painting, i.e. E=mc16.
It is the result of different influences that go from graffiti to contemporary painting, with artists such as Phase 2, Futura 2000, Dark, Keith Haring, Paul Klee, Nikki de Saint-Phalle, Dubuffet, Mondrian, to cite only the most famous.

I discovered that symbols form a language.
My symbolic language talks about nature and universe. I believe that geometric forms associated with the simplicity and the rigor of structures and composition can lead to a great purity.
Nevertheless, the same forms show an infinite possibility of combinations and can also express dynamism and a great vitality. Using the same elementary shapes — lines, circles, squares, triangles, polygons, and curves, most of the major characteristics of human beings can be described, such as purity, contemplation, spirituality, calm, joy, dynamism, consciousness, creativity, imagination…

HOW DOES YOUR ENVIRONMENT INFLUENCE YOUR ART?
The cosmos give me instructions to make peace on earth by telepathy or in my dream.

ANY LAST WORD?
Today, I’m working on these original designs that involves powerful creations using geometrical shapes full of colours. Now, we are heading from the same graphic support, towards a meditation and a reflexion to reach another sphere of conscience, guiding you to an indefinite world of networks twisting and crossing each other applied in certain spaces, which are strictly logical, at the same time subtle and obstinate to those who create their own direction. Peace on earth brothers and sisters.

ADIDAS

Amazing and massive 3D mapping projection by Adidas France.

This campaign called “Adidas is all in” was launched in Palais du Pharo in the city of Marseille in the South of France.
I don’t promote brands unless they do something really cool.
I have to admit that what was done for Adidas in this particular case impressed me a lot.
The way the images are projected on the face of the building is quite awesome.
Congratulations to the creatives who made this inspiring 3D outdoor mapping projection for Adidas.
